I love when clients recommend new locations for me to scout! While I have a list of locations that I know are beautiful and easy for clients to access, I am always looking for additional interesting locations that I’ve never seen before.
Jordan and Jay offered me that opportunity last week during their first family photo session!
While Jordan had originally suggested the beautiful Freier Farm to me, my pre-session scouting trip found that the foliage had started to turn colors, and we were looking for a lighter, more summery background. Fortunately, Fetherling Park happened to be across the street. It turned out to be the perfect backdrop to help celebrate Jordan’s soon-to-be one-year old, Orion, and his parents!
The lighting was perfect, with a combination of that hazy summer glow and soft even lighting, and Orion was full of giggles and smiles for his parents. He was especially interested in the late summer blooms still hanging on through the beginning of October.
After we spent some time playing in the flowers, we walked over to the Fetherling Park dock for a few last photos, and Orion had a blast hanging out on the dock (aided by some Cheerios). It was a great way to finish up a beautiful end of summer session!
Jordan and Jay, thank you for helping me discover not only one but two great new locations and letting me capture your first family photos! It was so much fun, and Orion is a little star!
