As a brand photographer, I love working with creative entrepreneurs who bring their passion to life through their work. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Elizabeth Higdon. She is a talented local artist known for her personal artwork and pet portraits. You can check out her website here!
Elizabeth’s art is more than just paint—it’s a reflection of her joy and positivity. She shared that her biggest motivation is to stay joyful in every part of her business. And by sending positivity out, she can receive it back. This mindset shapes her creative process, her client relationships, and ultimately, the art she puts into the world.
The Branding Session Process
Every one of my brand sessions starts with a pre-shoot questionnaire. This questionnaire helps my clients clarify their marketing goals and how we can use imagery to support them. Elizabeth and I worked through her responses to create a strategic photo list that would visually communicate her brand’s story. Our goal was to highlight her pet portraits, personal work, and the overall process behind her commissions.
After reviewing the plan together, we finalized the shot list, ensuring we had everything needed to showcase her artistry and brand message (including her pup Gimli!). Then, it was time to bring the vision to life!
The Photo Shoot
During our session, I focused on capturing Elizabeth in her element—painting at her easel, packaging a portrait, and in her studio with her pup. We included Gimli to make sure that her experience and relatability as a dog mom was demonstrated in the images. We also photographed her finished pieces and behind-the-scenes moments, giving her a collection of images she can use across her website, social media, and marketing materials.
Bringing Art & Brand Together
A strong brand isn’t just about having beautiful visuals—it’s about creating a connection. Through this session, we were able to craft images that not only showcase Elizabeth’s talent but also connect her to her clients and their interests. Now, she has a set of professional photos that align with her brand’s message and can help her reach more clients who resonate with her work.
If you’re an artist, maker, or entrepreneur looking to use marketing goals to visually tell your brand’s story, I’m the brand photographer for you! Let’s create imagery that reflects your craft and helps you connect with your audience in a meaningful way.
